Hope Comprehensive Resource Centre
Beacon of hope-Uganda’s dream of expansion of its programs to provide enough facilities for the women, youths and children as well as increasing efficiency of its operations is coming to realization. One of the long-term plans for Beacon of Hope Uganda is to establish a Comprehensive Resource Centre which would ensure effective administration of our projects. Plans for a new comprehensive centre are on the table to be constructed in Mengo village, south of Mukono town near the Lake Victoria.
It will provide health care, counseling, education as well as vocational training and a production enterprise for both adults and the youth. The facility will include a comprehensive healthcare clinic, day care centre expanded vocational training facilities to accommodate more trainees, a new production department and a youth resource centre equipped with computers and research facilities.
This is a long term 5 year project outlined in our Strategic Plan developed in 2016 that involves purchasing approximately 25 acres of land and fencing it then putting up a resource centre.
The first Resource Center was constructed in 2013 in Kasala village, north of Mukono town. Today the facility in Kasala serves as a day care centre and a primary school catering for over 200 orphans and vulnerable children.
This new modern training facility will be established at the same land accommodating our Hope Mixed Farm and it will be next to our proposed Eco Lodge facility.
The Centre will also be equipped with comprehensive rainwater harvesting infrastructure to fully utilize the short and heavy rains in the region. Additionally a borehole will be constructed to provide a reliable and affordable source of safe water for the community.
